And no one embodies this vision better than the founder Janita J. Plungė, a woman whose name is known and respected in the dog world across Europe, the USA, and Asia. Janita is not only a successful entrepreneur—she’s also a top-level breeder, international judge, and the heart and soul behind Tauro Kennel, KIKA Group’s flagship breeding program.
This year, Janita made history by being named the Best Pomeranian Breeder in the ???????? USA for 2024—the first European ever to earn this prestigious title. It’s more than a personal achievement. It’s a recognition of decades of dedication, hands-on care, and a strong, passionate team behind her.
“My journey with dogs started nearly 40 years ago with my first poodle, named Kika,” Janita recalls. “That little dog changed my life and inspired everything we’ve built today.”
From those early days to founding a kennel in Kaunas, Lithuania, in 1994, to returning to the global stage with renewed drive after raising a family, Janita’s story reflects the very values we champion at KIKA Group: passion, professionalism, and persistence.
A year of record-breaking wins
The results speak for themselves. In just the past year, Tauro Kennel dogs have earned:
- 19 World Champion titles
- 15 World Vice-Champion titles
- 25 European Champion titles
- 66 American Champion titles
And at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York, three Pomeranians from Tauro Kennel stunned the competition:
- Tauro Burgundy – Best of Opposite Sex, a title proving her ongoing excellence in the breed.
- Tauro Pranciskus – Select Dog, adding to his growing list of World and European Champion titles.
- Tauro J.P. Zanzibar – Award of Merit, a rising star at just 15 months old!
These victories aren’t just about trophies—they’re about standards. Breeding dogs that thrive in shows also means breeding dogs with excellent health, temperament, and personal physique. And this is where KIKA Group’s holistic model shines.
